She felt the black
She touched the blue
She tried to keep her eyes tight
It was a sunny day
It was cloudy
She was wrapped in a pale saree
Which kept her safe from
the specs around, down the river.
She survived.
She stood in the busy roads
She kept her fingers crossed
She kept her tears in
The letters she left behind.
She stepped out
There were trums, buses
People had to hurry, they had work
She walked with them, falling behind.
Her body was worried
Legs fell apart
She did not cut out.
There is a reason to live
I never knew
I never saw her going to school
Though she learnt the life.
